It came in perfect shape, and I am using it in my workout room while I walk on my treadmill. The dvd is fun because it keeps me on the treadmill longer. The controls are easy to use, the picture quality is very good, and the sound is adjustably loud enough to hear over other noise. I really like it! It was super easy to set up too..just connect the stand to the base, plug it in, connect to the cable, and voila. Just wanted a small TV near an easy chair. Bought a 19". 'Format' key on the remote lets you change size of the image. Filling the screen cuts off the tops of all the heads, no one has hair. Format to 'Standard gives a perfect picture that is 12" wide and 7.5" tall. Clear to watch, but much smaller than screen. Fine for up close. I personally don't like a giant screen because I just DO NOT like looking at strangers and ads that have heads the size of my steering wheel. Really is a great little TV, just be aware of the limitations. NOW, the BAD...fills the room with a 'Hot Electronic' SMELL. Praying that goes away as it ages. Remote is good, easy to use, a little slippery and hard to hold. All in all, I would recommend this. I ended up getting this one, assuming a well-known brand might be better, even though it is larger than I really wanted. (NOTE: Hats off to Amazon for their excellent return policy!)Now the review: Everything works as specified, what a relief! The sound is great on the "Movie" setting. The picture is very good once you find the right settings, which is very tedious. The first thing to do: the "Energy Saving Mode" needs to be turned off to get a decent picture, then adjust the other settings. The hardest part is to get rid of a greenish cast to everything. The DVD player is accessible from the top (great feature!) and seems to work fine, it starts when a DVD is inserted and all the controls work as intended. The picture and sound match the TV in quality and loudness. I guess this one is a keeper! |
